Evidence-based counselling for anxiety, relationships, neurodivergence, and mental health in Calgary, Alberta

Hi there! My name is Chris Bemrose, and I am a Registered Psychologist in Calgary, Alberta. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Lakehead University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Originally from a small community in Northern Ontario, I have called Calgary home since 2012. I provide professional counselling services to adults, adolescents aged 15 and older, young adults, couples, and individuals within the LGBTQIA2S+ community, serving Calgary in person and Alberta as a whole online.

I believe that effective therapy begins with understanding your unique story. As a Calgary psychologist, I use evidence-based counselling approaches to help clients create meaningful and lasting change. My therapeutic work draws from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Together, we work toward goals that feel realistic, supportive, and aligned with your values, in a space that is respectful, collaborative, and nonjudgmental.

I have particular experience supporting clients with anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, neurodivergence, addictions, and mental health diagnoses. I also offer couples counselling in Calgary, helping partners improve communication, increase mutual understanding, and reduce the impact of ongoing conflict. My approach to couples therapy focuses on strengthening connection while building practical skills for navigating challenges together.

In addition to counselling, I provide psychological assessments for both children and adults. Psychological assessments can help clarify diagnoses, support access to accommodations, and open pathways to educational, workplace, or community supports. If you are seeking an assessment in Calgary, or Alberta in general, I invite you to get in touch so we can discuss your needs and determine how I can assist.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support your mental health and wellbeing.
